X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse was a 1997 total conversion of id Software’s Quake, built by Zero Gravity Entertainment, that swapped Quake’s monsters for Marvel’s X-Men characters and was sold at retail, one of the first commercial games to put a major comic property into the Quake engine.
Like Nine Inch Nails’ work for Quake itself, the music came as a companion audio CD. Method of the W.O.R.M. wrote and recorded every track: six pieces of industrial, 27 minutes in all, released in October 1997.
